Biography
I am working as a Senior Lecturer (Equivalent) with the School of Computing and Engineering and a Senior Research Fellow with the EPSRC Future Advanced Metrology Hub for Sustainable Manufacturing at the University of Huddersfield. I hold a BEng and an MEng in Computer Science and Technology, a PhD in Instrument Science and Technology, a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, and a PGC in Higher Education. I was appointed as a Research Fellow in June 2021 and a Senior Research Fellow in September 2024 and have served as a Senior Lecturer (Equivalent) since June 2025. I have engaged in teaching undergraduate and master’s students and supervising/co-supervising PhD students since September 2023. I have authored/co-authored 60+ journal papers (including 30+ first-author and 7 corresponding-author journal papers). I am leading a Royal Society International Exchanges Grant which aims to develop an AI-assisted approach for additive manufacturing product design. I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a Member of the EPSRC Peer Review College, an Expert Reviewer of EPSRC Funding Applications, an Expert Reviewer of AHRC Funding Applications, a Review Expert of NSFC General Program Applications, an Editorial Team Member of 6 journals, and a Reviewer of 70+ journals.

- 28/05/2025: I visit the School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering of Yangtze University and deliver an invited lecture entitled “Artificial Intelligence in Geometrical Product Design, Manufacturing, and Measurement”.
- 27/05/2025: I serve as one of the session chairs for the 16th International Symposium on Measurement Technology and Intelligent Instruments / 3rd International Conference of Optical Imaging and Measurement.
- 26/05/2025: I attend the 16th International Symposium on Measurement Technology and Intelligent Instruments / 3rd International Conference of Optical Imaging and Measurement and make an oral presentation entitled “Abstracting prediction of surface roughness in laser powder bed fusion using logical reasoning and category theory”.
- 28/03/2025: My previous application for a Royal Society International Exchanges Grant entitled “Design for additive manufacturing: An automatic concurrent approach” is successful!
